Dell has launched Dell Inspiron Mini 10 lately. From its name, I’m sure you know why it is named Inspiron Mini 10. Inspiron Mini 10 is a10-inch netbook from Dell which is extremely light in weight with a weight of mere 1.2 kg.

This mini netbook from Dell is equipped with 1 GB of RAM and a hard drive of 160 GB capacity. Powered by a 1.33 GHz Atom Z520 processor, this Inspiron Mini 10 also features an SDHC/MMC flash card slot, and an HDMI output.

Since Dell still insists that netbooks are only being used for email and web browsing, the Mini 10 supports Microsoft’s Works 9.0 but without Microsoft Word. Another thing that is quite disappointing is the battery. Dell has given it only a 3-cell battery instead of a 6-cell unit as a standard, but you don’t need to worry; a 6-cell battery is available for an extra £40. It’s better for you to prefer the 6-cell option so you can have at around 5-6 hours of battery life.
However, if you care enough with the appearance of your stuff, well, you’ll be happy to read this: The Mini 10 is a stylish unit that will be available in various colors. The available colors are black, white, blue, red, green, pink and some other patterned options.

It also includes the following software: Symantec Norton Internet Security 2009, Microsoft Works, Skype, MSN live messenger, and AOL instant messenger.

Other interesting features of this mini HP 1150 NR are the built-in HP mini webcam, the built-in speakers, SD/MMC memory card reader, 3-cell battery, stylish HP imprint finish, and the integrated 54g Wi-Fi networking. The 1008HA Seashell has a handsome exterior. In short words, it doesn’t just look like every other netbook. Whether open or closed, the 1008HA is extremely comfortable to hold and carry about in one hand because of its weight and compact design. Weighing just 2.4 pounds, you may find out that the Eee PC Seashell is a highly portable companion for you. Further, the Seashell presents a smooth, uninterrupted exterior since It’s got a high gloss finish and the ports are hidden behind teeny doors.

Powered by 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 processor, ASUS eee pc 1008HA Seashell is equipped with 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and Intel GMA 950 graphics. Other features are two USB ports, a standard headphone jack, and mini VGA port, all hidden behind the tiny flaps. To accommodate the lack of VGA port, there’s a mini VGA to VGA adapter included in the box, and a dedicated magnetic slot to house it on the bottom side of the chassis. Is that all? Nope. The Seashell is also equipped with 802.11 B/G/N Wi-Fi, 10/100Mbps Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and a high-density, non-removable, lithium polymer battery that supposedly gets up to 6 hours of life.

There are some terms which refer to portable computers, such as: notebook, laptop, tablet pc, desktop replacement, netbook, net top etc. Most of the time, the terms above are confusing especially for us who are not computer-expert. Well, we don’t really need to know the difference between the various terms in specific. But there is time when we should know the terms and recognize the difference between them in order to get the suitable portable computer for us. As an example, if you are a student or a housewife, you should prefer a laptop rather than a tablet pc. They look similar but they have different specifications. In summary, each kind of portable computers has their own weaknesses and their own strength. Certain portable computers are better than the other ones for us in terms of the functionality.
