Fujitsu LifeBook P8020: working while travelling

Fujitsu LifeBook P8020 (3.5G), a 12.1in model that weighs 1.4kg, is aimed at anyone who works while travelling. It has 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive. It is powered by an Intel Core 2 DUO CPU. The most important thing is it is embedded with a 3G (UMTS) module that will work with mobile broadband plans from any carrier.

The screen of the Fujitsu LifeBook P8020 (3.5G) may impress you. Its backlight-based, LED screen produces quite enchanting bright colours. Unfortunately, since the integrated graphics are not suitable for anything more than running the 1280×800-resoluton screen, you won’t get too much in the way of graphics performance. It scored only 444 in 3DMark06, meaning that you won’t be able to smoothly run any programs that require real-time 3D rendering, such as games.

This is good news for you who are a fan of Samsung. Yup, Samsung has launched the latest mini notebooks. The mini notebook range has four variants — N110, NC20, N120 and N310. N310 Mini Notebook is one of the lightest in its class, small enough to carry in a handbag. “We expect Mini Notebooks to constitute 40-45 percent of our total Notebook sales this year,” Samsung India Electronics Director-IT Business Ranjit Yadav.

In the Notebook range, Samsung launched three new variants; R522 (which is available in two versions) and R470. Samsung has two design centers for Notebooks, one is in Korea and another is in China. All of them come with features like LED backlit displays for brighter pictures and lower power consumption and powered USB. As additional information for you, seventy five per cent of the components going into notebooks are being manufactured in-house by Samsung.
